Testing DexOS with DosBox Dos emulator

Using emulators First thing i would like to say, is that i do not use emulators, but out of all the emulators i have used, DosBox is the simplest to use, i am a great beleaver in 'KISS' programs and DosBox is the nearest emulator i have found that comes close, so that is why i am using it here.

DosBox First thing to do, is down load the "DosBox"emulator and also down load "DosBoxDexOS.zip",which has a modded floppy driver, that you will need, so you can load from the floppy image in the emulator ( DosBox ), once you have unzip "DosBoxDexOS.zip", make a folder on the the C: drive called DexOS, put in the IMA file that is in this zip file, then go to the folder you unzipped "DosBox" too, click on the exe called DosBox.exe.

Step 1. You should be here:

Step 2. At the Z: prompt type:

Step 3. Press enter, you should get this message:

Step 4. Type this:

Step 5. Press enter and you should have a A: prompt.

Step 6. Type this :

Step 7. Press enter and you should be at DexOS command line.

Step 8. That's it, you can now go ahead and try DexOS :) ,

To test for example DexOS's text editor called "Tex4u" type
run Tex4u.dex , then enter, you should be in the editor now, you can test the editor, load files, but not save as your running from a image, you cam make screenshots with 'Ctrl+f5', speed it up with 'Ctrl+f12'. DosBox vesa can only goto 256 color, so DexOS GUI will not run, also every thing is much slower than a real PC, but it will let you test it at least.

Note: The above is for XP, i have not used DosBox on anything else, more info about "DosBox" can be found at there web site.
